A solid wood bed is the frame most likely to outlast the room it is bought for. Pine is the most economical and takes paint well; oak is heavier, harder and more forgiving of knocks; acacia and mango bring stronger grain and more colour variation between pieces. Two things worth checking on any wooden frame: the slats, since sprung slats add a little give while solid slats feel firmer and suit memory foam, and the joints – bolted frames can be taken apart and rebuilt when you move, glued ones cannot.Expect natural variation in grain and tone between items; that is the material, not a fault. Our range runs from small single to super king in natural, oak, walnut, white and grey finishes. Sizes and room space are covered in the bed size guide. Free UK mainland delivery.
